Buird is an ancient Scots word for table. It’s pronounced ‘boord’.

All our pots are made in small batches from stoneware clay, which is hard wearing and resilient to chipping. Buird pots are dishwasher proof, although hand washing is advised to prolong their beautiful colours for a lifetime. It’s a lovely thing to hand care for something that is handmade.

Most pieces of Buird pottery are thrown on the potter’s wheel and then dipped in glaze. Each pot will have very slight variations which adds to their character.
